Show Synopsis

From the stage at Hoedown Jane’s Bar, Grill & Shootin’ Range, banjo-picker Bennett Longborn sings the tale of how he and his brothers must find love or at least empathy before they lose the family farm in Longborn Hollow, Tennessee. When New York millionaires move into the luxurious Netty’s Field ranch next door, Papa Longborn sees this as the boys’ golden opportunity to marry rich.  Hunky yet shy Jake Longborn quickly attracts Internet sensation Carly Bing, but her best friend, proud broadcasting heiress Darcy Fitzwilliams, irks and offends Bennett as they both wrestle with gender roles, social expectations, and their own assumptions. To complicate matters, Reverend Willamina Cole, Nashville televangelist and new owner of the Longborn family farm, has come to call, mostly on Bennett. As Darcy’s interest in Bennett grows, he falls under the seductive influence of National Guardswoman, Victoria “Wick” Hamm, who poisons him against Darcy before ditching him for a lottery winner. Then a trip to Nashville thrusts Bennett and Darcy back into intimate proximity at dinner with her uncle, Senator Carson deBerg, and proposals and accusations fly!

Only when Bennett travels to New York to untangle Wick’s web of lies and renew his interest in Darcy does news break that the youngest Longborn, Lyle, has run off with Wick in a failed attempt to overthrow the government! A mysterious benefactor orchestrates Lyle’s sweetheart plea deal, but not before he marries Wick before the judge. Returning to Longborn Hollow, Bennett finds that Carly has returned to Netty’s Field, albeit with no sign of Darcy. Jake finally finds the words to confront Carly and they reunite. Bennett wraps up his tale at Hoedown Jane’s, only to be ambushed by deBerg, set on driving him away from Darcy. When deBerg lets slip that Darcy was their mysterious benefactor, Bennett is left humbled, and hopelessly enamored, only to have Darcy humbly return to him.
