Appearing at bars & clubs in KC in 2011-12, The Slaughterhouse Opera told the harrowing tale of five survivors of the zombie apocalypse, lovelorn songster Joe Swain, vengeful vigilante Andromeda Sparks, shady demagogue Cornelius Herringbone, mad scientist Professor Kosmo Astrofsky, and disaffected rock-star Rex LeMord, as their disparate plans to save humanity collide in campy, operatic tragedy. In its one-act form, this eight-member rock band performed thirteen original songs penned by Sam Wright.
Much like the undead themselves, this project continues to haunt the mind of its creator,
threatening to reanimate once again in an expanded, two-act version.
